This customer wanted a sturdy functional railing that would compliment these beautiful stairs and the surrounding landscaping.  Traditional vertical support posts would have detracted from the flow of the large stones and rough hewn steps, so, together we designed and agreed on this offset support style.  The 2-inch diameter support tubes are firmly cemented into the ground behind the large boulders and the 2 and 5/8-inch wide rail-cap is re-enforced with heavy duty 1 and 1/4-inch square tube.  This robust construction allows the use of only two support poles yet provides a very rigid railing that is elegant and highly functional.
