Duane Ahrens, energy consultant, real astate developer, and major arts supporter in Northeast Minneapolis, purchased the old Nicollet Technologies Building in 2011 and has transformed it into a first class arts oriented location.  Today it houses 23 artist studios, a vast high class events venue, and is home to Indeed Brewery.

During its refurbishment, the old boiler in the basement was demolished, but Duane had had the foresight to save the faceplates of the old boilers.  In early 2012, Duane engaged me to design and build structures that would display these beautiful old castings as iconic elements as reminders of the buildings past glory.
