SOME NOTES AND LETTERS OF SUPPORT FROM PIEROGI PROJECT FANS:
I’ve always thought that the Pierogi sculpture will become a destination business magnet like the cherry and the spoon; something you see in a convention and visitors bureau marketing piece or a travel guide alongside an article that talks about the Twin Cities’ vibrant arts community and rich cultural diversity. This public art project could really be a good thing for a small business district, particularly one with a lot of immigrant and ethnic family-run restaurants, delis, and groceries.

Dear Jeff:
I am wild about the pierogi sculpture you are undertaking. My paternal Polish grandparents lived in the heart of Northeast on NE Main Street, and for several years my family lived with them. I am thrilled at the community development efforts that are underway, and especially delighted to see this pierogi sculpture.
Life has taken me to Portland, Oregon, and now Charlottesville, Virginia, and while the landscapes are beautiful, I still miss Northeast.
I would be happy to contribute to the project.
Best wishes,
Kathleen BPl
